Biography

Israel Hershberg

Born 1948 in a Displaced Persons camp in Linz, Austria. Lives and works in Pardes Hanna Karkur, Israel.

Israel Hershberg studied at the Brooklyn Museum School, the Pratt Institute, and the State University of New York, USA, graduating in 1972. From 1973 to 1984 he taught painting and drawing at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore. He was the founding director of the Jerusalem Studio School in Jerusalem and is founding director of the JSS in Civita Master Class & Residency in Civita Castellana, Italy.
