Biography

Ran Zhang

Born in 1981 in Tianjin, China. Lives and works in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and Berlin, Germany.

Ran Zhang studied at the Fine Arts Department of Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, graduating in 2013.
She received multiple prizes like the Danfoss Art Award in 2007 and substantial funding through the Mondriaan Fonds a.o. She was at resident at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in 2011, and at the Asia Culture Center in Gwangju, South Korea, in 2018.
